Molly DeMarco

Singer, trumpeter, and music arranger Molly DeMarco started her music journey in East Greenbush, New York. She has been singing for as long as she can remember but has been playing the trumpet since she was in fifth grade. After participating in choir and bands throughout junior high, she went to SUNY Oswego and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music. While she was there, she was in every music ensemble. This included the regular and auditioned choirs, orchestra, wind ensemble, and the jazz and Latin jazz ensembles. She also took voice, conducting, and arranging lessons while volunteering to play the herald trumpet at many school graduations.

 

She was a vocal coordinator for SUNY Oswego’s one and only show choir, Vocal Effect. Moving up in the group, she became the head vocal coordinator while becoming treasurer and eventually president of the group her senior year. It was during that time that she ran all functional aspects of the group while teaching the group music (occasionally her own arrangements). During the last summer of her undergraduate life, she studied abroad in London for six weeks and worked at Sunday Best Recordings while taking history classes.

 

Since her time at SUNY Oswego came to an end, she explored more of her interests by moving to Florida to work for the Walt Disney Corporation for a year while taking online classes with Berklee College of Music. She then worked at the Arts Center of the Capital Region back in New York until she decided to start graduate school. She is starting her second year at the Longy School of Music at Bard College for a masters degree in Jazz and Contemporary Music for Voice!
